Mise-en-scene

Mise en-scene from Great Baddow High School Media

1. You may find aliens, spaceships and rocket ships in a science fiction film.
2. You may find chocolates, wedding rings and flowers in a rom-com film.
3. In a horror film you  may find guns, masks and blood.

Image 1
- In this image you see two eerie characters looking mysteriously onwards. This is shown through the dark backgrounds create a  gloomy look. As well as this, you can see the confusion through their facial expressions showing they are confused by what is in front of them.

Image 2
- You can see a young man receiving help form an older character this may be do to do with a fighting sport due to his wrapped up knuckles which is usually associated which a combat sport.

Image 3
- In this image we see an army Sargent surrounded by his team. They seem to be apprehensive or upset about something as they all have their heads down or looking into the distance.

In image 1 the positioning of the characters show there is a tension and anger between the two characters as they are positioned on opposing sides of the shot and their body language also suggests this.

Image 2
In image 2 the shot is focused in on the axe wedged into a plank of wood that had just presumably gone through a rope that usually lead to distressed scenes in film.

Image 3

In this image the two characters are placed shoulder to shoulder looking proud with guns looking directly into the camera below them showing there power and how they belittle overs.

Image 4

In this image there is a lot going on in the background and sides but is focused in on a main character with a weapon in his hand making him look like his is leading over the over people in the shot. As well as this with the fire placed behind him it makes him look powerful and that he controls inhuman strengths.

In a film the positioning of the camera shows a lot about what film you are watching as usually in a horror film the camera is usually a lot closer to the character as it does not want to reveal much of the setting and situation around the character as it creates tension for the audience.
